About Me

I'M LAUREL DUGAN

I am a painter living in Grand Rapids, Michigan. My work addresses contemporary American life and ranges from small gouaches on paper to large oil canvases. I am drawn to the poignant, awkward, and occasionally absurd moments that reveal truths about life in the 21st century. One of my favorite things to do is paint outside in warm weather. I hold an MFA and an MA from Kendall College of Art & Design (May 2023). I participated in the Jerusalem Studio School Residency in Civita Castellana, Italy, and I am a recipient of a grant from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation.
